Innovation Market winner will receive cash, office space

The entrepreneur who proposes the winning business entry in the 2012 Innovation Market not only will land a $5,000 cash award, but a place to jump-start the business, officials with the Sioux City Growth Organization will announce today.

CENTURY 21 ProLink will donate office space for the start-up business in the corporate suites at 306 Virginia St. Owner Kyle Kelly will offer a free, six-month lease for the Innovation Market winner.

As part of the prize package, the Siouxland Chamber of Commerce will host a private small business round table luncheon.

Sioux City GO is sponsoring the second Innovation Market program. The event will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 7 on the second floor of the Plymouth Block Building, 1106 Fourth St.

Groups and individuals interested in submitting ideas to hold special events, help or form nonprofit groups or start new businesses should do so at www.siouxcitygo.com. The registration deadline is Feb. 3. In addition, the public is invited to attend by registering at the same Web site because space is limited.
