Home buyers want a home that is comfortable and safe; however, they must remember that if they are buying a “pre-owned” home, there may be items that they will need to take care of themselves after closing. A general home inspection is done within the first 10 days of an offer being accepted and it is for the buyer’s information only. This is not the time to have buyer’s remorse and look for items to get out of the deal! The inspector will not only talk with the buyer and show what normally needs to be done around the new home, he/she will also give a written report that can be reviewed to make sure the buyer understands the ins and outs of their new home!
